making everything feel connected

today was mostly about cleaning things up and making everything feel like one actual ecosystem instead of a bunch of separate projects.

the biggest change was getting mussedawit.com properly set up as my personal site. it now has my background, technical work, experience, resume, contact links, and connections back to calibexs. i also added links between the personal site and my calibexs profile so everything points back to the same identity instead of living in separate corners of the internet.

i cleaned up the public resume too. the version on the site is stripped of anything that does not need to be public and keeps the focus on cybersecurity, computer science, projects, experience, and certifications.

seo was another big part of today. the new site has its own sitemap, robots file, metadata, structured data, and search console setup. i also added backlinks from calibexs to mussedawit.com and updated my profile page with direct links to github, linkedin, instagram, and the new site.

drop

i also finally gave drop.calibexs.com some personality.

before, it basically just said what it was and left it at that. now the public page explains how the service works, what it is meant for, and why it exists without exposing anything about the private backend.

the new page has a simple three-step flow:

upload → get a link → share

it also explains that drop is meant for temporary file transfers rather than permanent storage and keeps the same dark purple calibexs style as everything else.

there were a couple spacing problems at first, but after adjusting the layout it ended up looking a lot more intentional.

next

the next service i want to clean up is img.calibexs.com and give it the same treatment.

at this point i am trying not to keep adding random projects just for the sake of adding something. i would rather make the things i already built feel finished, connected, and actually useful.

calibexs is starting to feel less like a collection of experiments and more like something that has its own identity.
